Pattys Fall Short In OCC Championship Battle At Olentangy
October 13, 2016

On Tuesday night, Dublin Coffman visited Patriots Stadium in a non-conference matchup that formerly was one of the biggest games of the year before the OCC realignment.

The Patriots went on the attack early and pressured the Rocks for the first 20 minutes, creating several chances but without netting a goal. The remainder of the half was more balanced in possession,  and the half ended with the score at 0-0.

In the second half, Liberty once again asserted control of possession and had the better scoring chances, but the Pattys had trouble finding the frame despite generating a solid attack.  As the half wore on, Coffman was content to get 9 players behind the ball and rely on counter attack opportunities, which were few.

The game ended in a 0-0 draw, with the Pattys outshooting Coffman by a 12 to 6 margin.

Liberty’s record moves to 11-2-1 and the Pattys will now set their sights on Thursday’s rivalry with Olentangy, with the OCC Buckeye Division championship on the line. Liberty enters the match at 4-0-0 in conference, with Olentangy at 3-0-1.

GO PATTYS!
