DSC_0939On Tuesday, the Pattys hosted Hilliard Bradley in a non-conference re-match of the 2015 season opening loss to the Jaguars. Liberty delivered a better result with a 3-1 win and moves to 2-0-0 on the season.

In the first half, Liberty dominated possession but was not able to find the goal, leading to a scoreless tie at the half. After the break, the Pattys were able to connect better in the final third and scored three goals in the first 12 minutes.  Scoring was provided by Abby Jones on a ball slotted in by Abby Townsend from the left flank, Saraina Dirrig off a corner from Emma Koshan, and Townsend, who received a pass from Dirrig, chipped the ball over the purusing goalkeeper and then buried the ball in the back of the net.  For the second straight game, the defensive unit was solid and contained Bradley’s speedy frontrunners.  The Jaguars did manage a late goal in the 67th minute when Gabriella Viagianno was able to turn at the corner of the box and launched a laser into the far post side netting. Emma Campbell and Grace Poncsak split time between the posts, with 2 saves and 4 saves respectively.DSC_0995

In the JVA match, the Pattys won by a 2-1 score on 2 goals by Addie Moeller, the first assisted by Grace Linscott and the second unassisted. JVA is also 2-0-0 on the season. HERE is a JVA highlight video (Jeff Fike).

Next up is a matchup with Oregon Clay (Toledo area) on Saturday at 2:30PM (JVA) abd 4:15PM (Varsity).

GO PATTYS!
