JVB Wins Three In A Week To Move to 10-1-3 On The Season (10/10/15)

October 13, 2015On Sunday, all Division I coaches from the Central Region met to complete the Tournament Draw at Westerville North High School. The Pattys were ranked #6 by their peer schools in the 41 team Region, behind Dublin Jerome (#1), Pickerington North (#2), Dublin Coffman (#3), Thomas Worthington (#4) and Gahanna (#5).
After Gahanna chose to potentially face #4 Thomas Worthington earlier in a District Semi-Final instead of the District Final, Liberty selected the slot most had expected Gahanna to choose. See below for the link to the playoff brackets.
The first order of business for the Pattys in the playoffs will be a rematch with St. Frances DeSales (#22) next Thursday, October 22nd at 7:00PM at Patriots Stadium. Although DeSales had the choice to face several lower ranked teams in their first match, the DeSales coach decided Liberty was the matchup they wanted, giving the Patriots the opportunity to redeem their poor showing on 9/24 where DeSales prevailed by a score of 0-1. Since that game, Liberty has gone 5-0-1 with key victories over Davidson (1-0), Olentangy (4-1), Coffman (3-2), Grove City (5-0) and Watterson (3-1) while securing their second consecutive OCC Central Division Championship.
If the Patriots advance, the District Semi-Final match will also be at home on Tuesday, October 27th at 7:00PM.
