In their third game in six days, the Pattys traveled to Worthington Kilbourne and preserved the overall program’s undefeated season across Varsity, JVA and JVB.

In the early match, JVA secured a 3-3 draw after and up and down match on a goal from distance by Harley Hatfield with 20 seconds remaining.  Meredith Shook and Sydney Englehart recorded Liberty’s first two goals. Emma Campbell and Ally Piero each recorded two saves.  JVA is now 4-0-5 on the season.

In the Varsity match, the Patriots came out in a modified formation to build on some concepts from training earlier in the week, and were not able to get things rolling during the first 20 minutes. At the midway point of the first half, the Patty’s earned a penalty kick and Emma Ranalli calmly placed the shot into the Upper 90. Later in the half, on an assist from Lexy Fisher, Kylie Slusser beat her defender on the right flank, cut the ball back and drilled a laser past the keeper from 18 yards out.

In the second half, Kilbourne came out strong and had a few early chances, but after Miranda Kuhns made a key diving save (with 4 saves on the night), Liberty took control of possession for the balance of the match. Slusser recorded her second goal of the match on an assist by Olivia Sensky, and Jordan Fike closed out the scoring on an assist from Sarina Dirrig. Varsity is now 9-0-1 with 47 goals scored and only 2 allowed on the season.

The Patriots will recharge over the weekend and prepare for a key conference matchup at Hilliard Davidson on Tuesday, September 23rd.

GO PATRIOTS!
