On a fall-like Saturday night at intra-district rival Olentangy Orange, all three teams came home undefeated with JVB & JVA drawing by scores of 1-1 and 0-0, respectively while Varsity won 2-0.

For JVB, Madison Rapier scored the lone goal, and Mackenzie Scott and Kayla Rizzo turned in solid defensive performances. JVB is now 7-0-2 on the season and have outscored their opponents 21-5

The JVA match featured two very evenly matched teams, Liberty had a slight majority in possession, but neither team was able to find the back of the net.  JVA is now 3-0-4 on the season and have outscored their opponents 15-5.

In the Varsity match, Liberty jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half.  The first goal came on a header pass from Natalie Flahive over the line of defense to Jordan Fike who buried the chance. The second goal came when Sarina Dirrig attacked space on a run through the central midfield and played a through ball to Flahive who got the Orange goalkeeper to commit, faked to the right and and scored in the back left of the net.

Although Liberty had the wind in the second half, the team seemed content with the 2-0 lead and did not complete the match in the dominant fashion in which they started.

The Liberty defensive unit continues to frustrate its opponents, having allowed only 2 goals in all scrimmages and matches to date, for a 0.25 Goals Against Average in the regular season. Senior Goalkeeper Miranda Kuhns recorded her 5th shutout of the year, and Emma Campbell has also contributed a shutout in her appearance earlier this year.  The starting back line of captains Katie Best and Emma Waters, and senior Hayley Hickman with valuable support from Emma Koshan have consistently limited the opponents to less than five shots per game.  Senior Captain Emma Ranalli has been a force and pillar of consistency in her holding midfield role, even when man-marked  by opponents.

The next week will feature non-conference matchups with Westland and Kilbourne, and an opportunity to fine tune in preparation for key upcoming conference matches.

For the season, the entire program is undefeated with a combined record of 17-0-7 and a goal margin of 66-12. Congratulations to all the girls on their efforts and keep up the good work as the second half of the season begins.

GO PATRIOTS!
