Patriots Sweep Group at All-Ohio Showcase (8/9/14)

The Pattys traveled to the All-Ohio Showcase, which welcomes top teams from across the state at Delco Park in Dayton on Saturday. The result was three wins in back to back to back preview matches against 2013 D2 State Semifinalist Archbishop Alter (W,1-0), 2013 D1 Sylvania District Finalist Toledo St. Ursula Academy (W,3-0) and Kettering Fairmont (W,3-0), to lead the six team group in the afternoon session. For Coach Saiben, the event’s greatest benefit was the opportunity to work on match fitness and fine tune tactical strategy and technical sharpness. Every player on the roster saw significant action and it is clear the 2014 Patriots have a deep squad.

The defense, anchored by four year starting goalkeeper Miranda Kuhns and defensive veterans Katie Best, Emma Waters and Hayley Hickman turned in another solid effort resulting in no goals allowed on the day.

Natalie Flahive, Jordan Fike, Lexy Fisher, Sarina Dirrig and Katie Kill accounted for the scoring, with assists delivered by Kylie Slusser, Dirrig, Flahive, Mackenzie Coyne and Jess Pickard.

After a well deserved day off, training will resume on Monday with scrimmages this week against Dublin Jerome (8/12) and Canal Winchester (8/14), both away.
