2014 Rosters Set & Preseason Is Underway!

August 9, 2014The Patriots Girls Varsity & JVA Soccer squads hosted New Albany last evening in the first inter-scholastic scrimmages of the preseason. Both teams dominated possession and earned wins, but more important was the opportunity for the coaches and players to work in match conditions on concepts from the first week of training.
In the Varsity scrimmage, despite outshooting New Albany by a wide margin, earning 12 corner kicks and limiting them to two shots, the game winner did not come until late in the match, when Natalie Flahive beat two opponents to the endline, drew the ball back to the penalty spot where Sarina Dirrig settled the pass and finished the chance.
Next up for the Varsity Patty’s is the All-Ohio Showcase at Delco Park in Dayton on Saturday, with preview matches at 3:00PM vs. Archbishop Alter, 4:00PM vs. Toledo St. Ursula, and 5:00PM vs. Kettering Fairmont.
