October 10, 2015The Pattys started their game vs. Watterson on September 3rd, and finished the match on October 10th, registering a 3-1 win in which every player who was available to play, including swing players from JVA, saw action. Liberty is now 6-1-1 in their last 8 games and 9-4-1 overall.
Liberty opened the scoring in the 10th minute on September 3rd, when Sophomore Olivia Sensky played a strong pass behind the defense to Senior Jordan Fike who gave Liberty the lead. The game was then suspended due to lightning with 25:48 remaining in the first half, to resume this Homecoming morning at 10:00AM.
Liberty would seal the victory on goals off two corner kicks served in by Senior Captain Emma Waters, who assisted on the second goal which was credited to Sensky in the 29th minute, and then Junior Sarina Dirrig closed out the scoring for the Pattys in the 39th minute.
Watterson actually outshot Liberty by a 15-6 margin, but the Patriots were highly efficient in finishing their chances.
In the second half, play was fairly even, and all Patriot reserves who were available to play saw considerable action. Watterson tallied a late goal 79th minute, but the result was never in doubt.

Tomorrow, the Central District seeding meeting will take place and the Pattys will learn where they will be ranked and how the post-season bracket will unfold. The strong second half of the season should help the Pattys secure a strong ranking in the 41 team field. The first Playoff match will occur on Thursday, October 22nd at home versus an opponent to be determined.
Next up is the conference finale at Thomas Worthington on Tuesday, followed by the last regular season match vs. Worthington Kilbourne on Thursday with an early start of 5:15PM.
