On Thursday, the JVA squad kicked off game night on a positive note, bringing home a 2-0 win with goals scored by Lyndsey Kijowski and Malia Follmer. A brilliant header goal by Madison Rapier on a cross by Cameron Fike in the closing minutes was negated by the referee who claimed the ball crossed the end line, but regardless of the call, finding the net on a header out of the air is something Coach Doug Williamson had been challenging the girls to accomplish.

In the Varsity match, the Pattys were stunned by a well organized DeSales squad and lost 0-1.  The Patriots managed only four shots on frame for the match, with the key scoring chances coming in the first half when Liberty controlled the flow of the game. DeSales moved the ball well in the second half, and the difference was a goal from distance 10 minutes into the second half.  The Pattys pushed extra attackers forward in the closing minutes to try to level the match, but the result stood at 0-1.

The Patriots hit the road for a match on Saturday at Oregon Clay near Toledo, and return home on Tuesday for a conference match with Hilliard Davidson, with the goal to stay undefeated in conference play.

GO PATTYS!
