On Tuesday evening, the Liberty Girls Soccer team carried the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches D1 Girls #1 Ranking into a key conference matchup at Dublin Coffman, but left Coffman Stadium having suffered their first loss of the season by a the score of 1-0.

Although Liberty had the opening kickoff, the Pattys were not set and ready to play at the whistle and Coffman caught the Patriots off guard, scoring a stunner in 14 seconds on a long shot from a difficult angle after a series of breakdowns.

From that point forward, the Pattys took control of the match, having a strong edge in possession, and outshooting Coffman by a margin of 16 to 3, but could not find the back of the net.  The Patriots also had the advantage in corners by a margin of 6 to 3. Coffman goalkeeper Buckley had an outstanding performance and made 10 saves to  secure the win.

The Pattys will regroup and return home for their last three matches of the season before the OHSAA Playoffs begin. The Patriots are now 11-1-1 on the season and 5-1-0 in conference. The loss may impact the Pattys quest for a conference championship, more will be known after the final upcoming conference games for each team.
