JVB Goes 2-0-0 In Back To Back Matches (8/21/14)

August 26, 2014The Varsity Pattys finished the first week of the season standing at 2-0-0 while JVA is 1-0-1. On Thursday, both teams opened up the attack and brought home wins against Worthington Christian by scores of 6-1 (Varsity) and 4-0 (JVA).
In the Varsity match, the Patriots jumped out to a 2-0 lead early, but the Warriors who are lead by several strong senior, college bound soccer players, responded with a goal and took control of the last 20 minutes, putting a lot of pressure on the Pattys. After the break, Liberty responded in the first minute with a third goal, and then took control of the match leading to the 6-1 final. Worthington Christian GK Shirley Retstatt turned in a great performance despite the score.
Liberty’s scoring came on goals by Natalie Flahive (2), Emma Ranalli, Lexy Fisher, Jordan Fike and Sarina Dirrig. Assists were provided by Flahive (2), Kylie Slusser and Kalen Weissinger. Mirand Kuhns had five saves. Every Varsity player who was available for the match saw action.
The scoring in the JVA match came through goals from Kasey Reida (2),Meredith Shook and Freshman Sydney Weaver. Sophie Fallieras (2), Morgan Gray and Harley Hatfield had assists.
Next up is Central Crossing for Varsity only at Home on Tuesday at 5:30PM (PLEASE NOTE EARLIER START) and both teams face Pickerington North on Thursday.
