On Tuesday night (10/28/14), the Pattys goal was to end the night as one of the “Elite 8” in the State, but an opportunistic Olentangy squad denied the effort as the Patriots fell 0-1 in the OHSAA D1 Regional Semifinal match at Gahanna Lincoln High School.

The Patriots had the run of play in the first half and several solid scoring opportunities, a game-long advantage in possession, shots and corners, but could not find the back of the net. Olentangy converted a chance in the 58th minute, which proved to be the difference.

Despite the setback and a clear feeling that the season had ended too soon, the Pattys, Coach Saiben and Coach McMahon have so much to be proud of, including many firsts and records for the Patriots girls soccer program, which will be celebrated at the team banquet on November 12th.

Here are few snapshots of the season’s accomplishments, records and firsts:

Thank you to all the players, coaches, and especially the seniors for your hard work and efforts, and for making the Olentangy Liberty community very proud! Beyond your accomplishments on the field, you have demonstrated class, sportsmanship, a team first attitude, and you are truly great role models for all of the young ladies who aspire to be future Pattys!

GO PATTYS!
